The Brief
The Ned is the conversion of the former Lutyens designed, Grade 1 listed Midland Bank Headquarters into a 5* hotel adjacent to the Bank of England.
The hotel has eight public restaurants in the former banking hall and the Directors rooms and extensive basements gold vaults have undergone major conversions to form private members’ dining and spa facilities.
KDS were appointed by Ardmore Construction to undertake contractor’s design portions for all the major structural and envelope works, which consisted of an additional floor over the whole of the original building, new cores and a rooftop swimming pool.
