Based on our extensive experience of working alongside Structural, MEP, and Fire engineer we can identify and optimise floor plates providing additional floor areas thus increasing the number of units.
By efficient floor plate design working along with Structural engineers, we can reduce or eliminate the requirement for transfer slab, providing cost benefits to our projects.
With regards to MEP, we assist with efficient design of riser and ceiling services zones. Efficient plant room design can also assist with enhanced Car park and cycles storage provision.

Working with the developers’ sales team we frequently redesign apartment layouts to enable the mix to be optimised to current market demand based on specification and location.

Rationalisation Strategy
KDS recognise there is always an opportunity through careful re-planning and more efficient search patterns to improve upon the original layout. This may involve looking into plant room and sub station design and location, thus reducing the cost of the buildings as well as adding additional value.
Enhanced Design
We frequently look at practical solutions to enhance the original design which can result in reducing the height of the building by optimising the lift and stair core heights to give significant cost savings to the project without compromising on the quality of design.

KDS can design bespoke modular bathroom and utility cupboards to be used across different tenures and to suit different specifications to speed up delivery on site.
