With over 35 years of experience in Architecture, as Chairman, Andrew's focus is on long term strategy and business development freeing KDS's talented team of Architects & Designers to focus on what they do best. Working alongside the Directors, our goal is to grow KDS organically and via strategic acquisitions to continue its legacy into the future.

Chris joined KDS as Associate Director in 2016. Chris has varied and multi-disciplinary experience in commercial and mixed-use architecture, on sites with sensitive and historical importance. He has worked both as an architect and as a client project manager on many large and complex urban sites in the residential, commercial, retail, hotel and rail sectors.

Kevin Smyth has over 35 years of architectural experience working on housing and community schemes with a thorough knowledge of building construction and listed building refurbishment work. His extensive experience in the residential sector has enabled him to develop a highly valued skill in optimising projects for clients through improved space planning.

Allison has been with KDS since 2008. After attaining a BA degree at University, Allison worked in the theatre as a stage manager before she left South Africa and moved to the UK, where she has worked as an office manager in a variety of different sectors.  In addition, Allison is a qualified librarian and the organisational and communication skills required for this, together with her varied, creative background and wealth of experience, have proved useful in the role of office manager.

Michael an alumnus of LSBU with a first-class honour’s degree in Architectural Technology joined KDS in 2008. Due to his strong technical knowledge and unique skill set he was promoted to an Associate Director in 2013. Michael has since successfully delivered large residential schemes, heading up the design team of architects and technicians. He is also responsible for keeping the technical staff up to date with latest construction legislation and technology.

Andrew has over 26 years of experience in architectural design and construction, working as the project architect on a variety of residential and mixed-use scheme on all stages of the design process. Projects he has worked on range from bespoke, private houses and penthouses through to low-density suburban housing developments and high-density mixed-use developments.

Mawumefa joined KDS in 2017 as an RIBA Chartered Architect and is currently leading the development of the former Southwark Fire Station into high end residential units through a mix of new build and refurbishments. She utilises her extensive knowledge of Revit to run the coordination process with the various Consultants and Sub-Contractors. Mawumefa was promoted to Associate Director in 2022. In addition to being a project runner, she is also the BIM champion, responsible for the cohesion of BIM and CAD standards in the office. This entails script writing and implementation of standard drawing templates throughout the office, working in collaboration with Francesco to continue the professional growth of the office. She is also a member of Black females in Architecture.

Francesco joined KDS in 2017 as a project Architect to run multi-million pounds mixed-use residential scheme. Francesco's extensive experience in BIM and technical ability allowed him to work on Grade II listed, Hornsey Town hall. He was promoted to Associate Director in 2022. In addition to managing a team and running a project, he is also a BIM champion, responsible for maintaining office standards and providing continuous professional growth to the Revit user and other technologist in the office.

Ian has over thirty years of experience in Commercial and Residential Architecture. Prior to forming KDS & Associates Ltd (KDS) in 1993 with Ken Smith, Ian worked for EPR Design and Fitzroy Robinson at Associate Level, project managing large multi-million-pound projects including The Trocadero, Barkers of Kensington and Little Britain.

Barry has more than 15 years of working experience with KDS and plays a pivotal role in the team structure providing technical, CAD and Revit support on a range of multi-million-pound design & build projects. Projects have included high rise buildings in both the private and social housing sectors, as well as in commercial, leisure and mixed-use developments.

Huthman has most recently project managed the Hathaway House, and the Blackfriars Road schemes. Huthman has worked on a variety of residential and commercial projects before joining KDS. Residential projects have included new build, refurbishment schemes and conversion development. Huthman’s project experience includes, optimisation, the production of planning, tender and construction drawing packages, dealing with legislative and statutory matters.

Craig has cross-sector experience on residential, commercial, educational and industrial projects. Since joining KDS in 2016 Craig has provided invaluable support in assisting the Project Director design and managing the day to day running of large-scale projects. He has recently been the lead support on the Block C project in Colindale, liaising with the client regarding the planning requirements.

Olu has 14 years of experience in architectural design and construction, covering all stages of the design process with extensive experience in the development of residential projects ranging from private houses to mid and high-end residential developments. Olu joined KDS in 2016 and he has worked primarily on residential schemes.

John has over 30 years of experience in the construction industry starting off his career working for main contractors. 16 years ago John joined a residential developer and re-trained as a qualified technician, combining his invaluable experience and knowledge of how buildings go together with his newly acquired AutoCAD skills.
